Match an invoice against accepted receipt quantities

Keep physical custody and invoice-matching eligibility separate.

Prepare the purchasing decision

Synthetic matching policy uses accepted receipt units, not all physically received units. L1 ordered ten, received ten and accepted eight; two remain inspection-pending. L2 ordered and accepted four. The invoice claims ten and four. This worksheet checks document quantities only and neither releases held stock nor approves payment.

Complete the recorded outcome

  1. Locate the issued PO and accepted receipt lines.
  2. Compare invoice quantities to the eligible receipt basis.
  3. Record matched and unmatched units for document review.

Pending inspection is not an accepted receipt merely because the supplier delivery note says complete.

How many invoiced units have accepted receipt support?

Show the worked answer

Twelve: 8 + 4. Two on L1 remain unmatched; physical receipt of fourteen does not clear them.

A matching result is evidence for the next reviewer, not a payment instruction or a stock adjustment.
