Prepare the purchasing decision
Synthetic receipt R-M has eight accepted units. Invoice I-M1 already uses five in the matching register; I-M2 newly claims four. Only three remain unassigned. The fixture does not treat document approval, payment or supplier statement totals as proof that an extra receipt exists.
| Record | Eligible quantity | Assigned / claimed | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| R-M | 8 accepted | 5 used by I-M1 | 3 unassigned |
| I-M1 | 5 assigned | 5 | Retain original assignment |
| I-M2 | 3 remaining | 4 claimed | 1 without receipt support |
Complete the recorded outcome
- Read the accepted receipt and existing matching allocations.
- Subtract assigned units before matching the next document.
- Hold unsupported quantity or obtain corrected invoice evidence.
Releasing a matching allocation needs an evidenced reversal; deleting its invoice link can make the same units available twice.
I-M2 is corrected to three. Does the total now reconcile?
Show the worked answer
Yes: 5 + 3 = 8 accepted units. This clears the quantity allocation test only, with no payment conclusion.
Maintain receipt-to-invoice line links, not just a supplier-wide quantity total.
