End a temporary support setting without undoing a later customer choice

Restore the recorded original value only if the temporary state is still the current one.

Record the temporary value and ending condition

Synthetic support temporarily changes report mode from compact to expanded until 17:00 on 20 October 2026. At expiry, record A still has expanded as set by this support action; it may restore compact. Record B now has customer-selected detailed mode, so the expiry action must not overwrite it. Record C has no reliable current evidence and remains under review. No automated compare-and-write feature is assumed.

Evaluate restoration against current evidence

  1. Read temporary action reference
  2. Read ending condition
  3. Compare current state with support state
  4. Restore, retain newer choice or review

A missing current-state read does not authorise restoring a possibly outdated value.

How many of A, B and C can restore compact now?

Show the worked answer

One: A. B keeps the later customer choice and C lacks the current evidence needed for restoration.

Use the agreed expiry and current-state evidence. A later customer choice requires its own disposition rather than an automatic restoration.
