Apply a blackout without silently deleting existing bookings

List affected confirmed bookings and choose an explicit cancellation or relocation outcome.

Use a bounded unavailable interval

Synthetic blackout closes room R-B from 10:00 inclusive to 12:00 exclusive. A booking is affected if it uses that room during any part of the interval. New bookings are blocked; existing ones enter review, retaining their records and session allocations until an outcome is chosen. This is not a room-capacity calculation.

Resolve each affected booking

  1. Record room, blackout boundary and reason before blocking new availability.
  2. Build an affected-booking list with entitlement and communication status.
  3. Record accepted relocation or operator cancellation for each booking.

A proposed alternate room does not clear review until its suitability and the required customer choice are resolved.

Which bookings need action, and why does B-B3 remain?

Show the worked answer

B-B1 and B-B2 need review. B-B3 starts at the exclusive end boundary, so it uses no blackout time.

Track unresolved outcomes rather than deleting bookings to make availability appear correct.
