Track incoming and outgoing sides independently
The synthetic exchange EX-M permits two replacements after two original units are received and identified. RA-M has met that trigger; the original return still awaits its damaged-stock disposition. Replacement order RP-M is linked to EX-M. This local exchange trigger is not a legal entitlement or a promise about all returns.
| Reference | Direction / quantity | Authorisation | State |
|---|---|---|---|
| RA-M | Inbound / 2 originals | Identity matched to D-M | Received; disposition pending |
| EX-M | Exchange / 2 replacements | Trigger satisfied | Approved |
| RP-M / D-M2 | Outbound / 2 replacements | Linked to EX-M | Dispatch checked |
Close each side on its own evidence
- Verify returned originals
- Check exchange trigger
- Create linked replacement task
- Pick and dispatch two replacements
- Continue original-stock disposition
A second replacement request using EX-M must first check the existing RP-M result; the same exchange authorisation cannot be consumed twice.
Record outbound replacements against the exchange purpose, while preserving the original order and return IDs. EX-M can show its replacement dispatched without declaring RA-M’s physical disposition complete. Any invoicing or credit treatment needs a separately supplied agreement and is not inferred here.
A staff member reopens RP-M after losing the dispatch screen. Should two more replacements be issued?
Show the worked answer
No. D-M2 already evidences two dispatched replacements. Recover that reference and confirm the existing result before any new authorisation; the permitted exchange quantity is already used.
