Capture the response at line level
Synthetic Q-74 permits independent line acceptance. Its three lines contain 5, 3 and 2 task units. The customer accepts the first, declines the second and has not answered the third. The order contains five units. The unanswered line remains open until a response or expiry; it is neither declined nor accepted. Store quote line IDs on the order so a later response can be explained.
| Quote line | Offered units | Response | Order units |
|---|---|---|---|
| L-A: setup | 5 | Accepted | 5 |
| L-B: training | 3 | Declined | 0 |
| L-C: follow-up | 2 | Unanswered | 0; pending response |
Confirm only the selected independent scope
- Identify revision and line IDs
- Record each response
- Check independent-line rule
- Create accepted-line order
A response saying only “go ahead” without identifying the selected scope needs clarification; do not infer all lines from an earlier discussion.
L-C is later accepted in time. What is the combined accepted quantity?

Seven units: five from L-A plus two from L-C. L-B remains declined. Link any additional order work to L-C rather than adding the entire quote again.
Units describe tasks, not prices. Independent acceptance is a fixture rule; linked bundles require a separate dependency check.
