Replan open purchase deliveries after a supplier changes its date

Keep the original promise and revised supplier date visible, then decide which customer commitments require review.

Connect supplier dates to the orders depending on them

The synthetic supplier changes PO-Q’s confirmed arrival from 12 October to 16 October. Ten units are undelivered. O-Q1 needs six by 14 October and O-Q2 needs four by 18 October. The sample planner requires one day after arrival for receiving and picking, with no other constraints supplied. Dates describe this exercise, not carrier or provider promises.

Review affected promises without silently changing them

  1. Record revised supplier confirmation
  2. Identify dependent order lines
  3. Apply supplied handling interval
  4. Flag O-Q1 for decision
  5. Record each order owner’s revised plan

An unconfirmed revised date stays uncertain; do not convert “around next week” into a precise customer delivery promise.

The planning result identifies O-Q1 as affected under the supplied one-day rule. It does not prove O-Q2 will arrive on time: actual receipt and other delivery work remain to be checked. Retain the original 12 October commitment for supplier follow-up instead of overwriting it.

Which order requires a changed plan under these inputs?

Show the worked answer

O-Q1: readiness on 17 October misses its 14 October need. O-Q2’s 18 October need is not yet contradicted by this date-only test, but remains subject to actual receipt.
