Prepare an allocation queue with fill permissions
Six inspected units arrive. The sample allocation sequence is O-T, O-U, then O-V. O-T needs four and accepts a partial fill; O-U needs three and requires a complete fill; O-V needs two and accepts partial. The supplied policy skips a complete-only order when the remaining quantity cannot fill it. This is an example agreement, not a fairness rule.
| Queue order | Need / fill rule | Allocation | Still backordered |
|---|---|---|---|
| O-T | 4 / partial allowed | 4 | 0 |
| O-U | 3 / complete only | 0; only 2 remain | 3 |
| O-V | 2 / partial allowed | 2 | 0 |
Record allocation and residual demand together
- Verify received and released quantity
- Load approved backorder sequence
- Apply each fill rule
- Record allocation by order line
- Retain unfilled demand
Missing fill permission pauses that order’s decision. Do not infer that all customers accept a partial shipment.
O-U is skipped under the explicit policy and retains all three units outstanding. Preserve the allocation version so a later receipt starts from the remaining demand, not the original four-plus-three-plus-two. Allocation does not itself dispatch any goods.
What is allocated from the receipt, and what remains owed across these orders?

All six units are allocated: four to O-T and two to O-V. Three remain backordered on O-U. Original demand nine = allocated six + outstanding three.
