Cancel an order without erasing completed or dependent work

Give each work item a recorded disposition before declaring operational cancellation complete.

Cancellation is a set of work decisions

Synthetic O-177 cancellation affects setup S, report R and training T. S is complete, R is in progress and T has not started. The fixture preserves S’s evidence, requires a stop-and-save decision for R and removes T from the future schedule. Mark the cancellation requested first; it becomes operationally complete only when every work disposition is recorded. There is no automatic refund calculation.

Complete cancellation after item dispositions

  1. Record cancellation request
  2. Read every work state
  3. Assign stop, retain or remove action
  4. Close after evidence is present

An in-progress dependency must not be abandoned solely by changing the parent order label to cancelled.

S and T are resolved but R is pending. Is cancellation operationally complete?

Show the worked answer

No. R still needs a recorded stop-and-save result. Keep the cancellation in progress and name its owner.

This sheet excludes payment reversals, contractual cancellation rights and retention duties. Work states and closure rules are synthetic.
