Reopen a sales opportunity without reviving an old offer

Carry forward discovery history while rechecking the current scope and quote baseline.

Reuse evidence selectively

Synthetic O-133 was lost in June, then the customer resumes discussion in October. The earlier quote Q-13 expired in June; the new request adds a report. Reopen the opportunity with a new decision episode, retaining the old loss event. Reuse the unchanged contact relationship but recheck the report scope and issue a current offer. Reopening the CRM record alone does not restore the expired quote.

Create a new decision episode

  1. Attach resumed enquiry
  2. Retain old closure event
  3. Compare current requirements
  4. Set fresh scope and offer baseline

If the new request is a different buying decision, create a separate linked opportunity instead of rewriting the old one.

The customer says “same as before” but the old quote is expired. Is the win gate met?

Show the worked answer

No. The current offer decision remains unresolved. Confirm whether the same scope is still offered and obtain a valid response to that baseline.

The episode record preserves chronology; it does not determine legal renewal, accounting treatment or provider automation.
