Separate forecast assumptions from confirmed sales scope

Keep unknown decision timing out of a confirmed workload total without inventing probabilities.

Classify evidence before adding units

Synthetic workload planning counts accepted task units due in October as committed work. A proposed quote with an expected October decision is tentative; a quote with unknown timing stays unallocated. No revenue or probability model is used. O-155 contributes four committed units, O-156 has six tentative units and O-157 has three unallocated units. Displaying thirteen as committed would erase the difference between evidence and expectation.

Update the bucket when evidence changes

  1. Identify acceptance evidence
  2. Read delivery or decision timing
  3. Separate planning buckets
  4. Reclassify on recorded new evidence

Unknown timing must remain unknown; do not substitute the current month or a default probability.

O-156 is accepted for November work. What is October’s committed quantity?

Show the worked answer

Four units. Its six units become November committed work, not October committed work. Remove them from October’s tentative bucket.

Task units are fictional. This is workload classification, not a financial forecast, weighted pipeline model or statement of realised revenue.
