Review dependent tasks when an order date moves

Recalculate a small dependency chain instead of shifting only the visible customer appointment.

Use offsets from the agreed delivery event

Synthetic order O-188 completes on 30 October. Data approval is due four calendar days before completion; preparation is due two days before. Moving completion to 2 November gives new due dates of 29 and 31 October. Already completed tasks keep their actual dates. Any unfinished prerequisite without an owner prevents schedule confirmation, even if the customer-facing completion date has been changed.

Confirm the whole dependent schedule

  1. Read proposed anchor date
  2. Calculate prerequisite due dates
  3. Check owners and task states
  4. Confirm or hold the revised schedule

Working-day calendars, unavailable staff and external deadlines are not included; do not imply the calculated dates prove capacity.

Does moving completion three days later move each unfinished offset task by three days?

Show the worked answer

Yes under this fixed calendar-offset fixture: 26 to 29 October and 28 to 31 October. Feasibility still needs review.

The offsets are synthetic scheduling rules. This differs from booking capacity and does not reserve staff or resources.
