Define the frozen interval and booking rule
Synthetic freeze runs from 12 Oct 00:00 inclusive to 19 Oct 00:00 exclusive. Membership-funded sessions cannot start in that interval. Existing affected bookings are cancelled with one held session returned to its source package; package expiry does not change under this example. Starts outside the interval remain eligible on time grounds.
| Booking | Start | Freeze test | Outcome |
|---|---|---|---|
| B-F1 | 11 Oct 23:00 | Before freeze | Keep booking |
| B-F2 | 12 Oct 00:00 | At included start | Cancel; return held 1 |
| B-F3 | 18 Oct 18:00 | During freeze | Cancel; return held 1 |
| B-F4 | 19 Oct 00:00 | At excluded end | Keep subject to other eligibility |
Settle the affected bookings explicitly
- Read approved freeze interval and list future session starts.
- Identify B-F2 and B-F3 and apply the stated cancellation treatment.
- Record returns and cancel their pending reminders; retain outside-interval bookings.
A rule based on the whole session interval instead of start time needs a different impact review; do not borrow this start-only result.
How many held sessions return from the four bookings?
Show the worked answer
Two, from B-F2 and B-F3. The end boundary at 19 Oct 00:00 is outside the freeze.
A cancelled booking stays cancelled after reactivation. Customers must make a new eligible booking rather than assuming it reappears.
