Decide whether a freeze extends package expiry

Record the package effect of a freeze instead of assuming all expiry dates move with membership status.

Separate membership and package clocks

Synthetic rule: an approved freeze from 12 Oct 00:00 to 19 Oct 00:00 lasts seven calendar days. Only packages explicitly marked pause-on-freeze receive a seven-day expiry extension. Fixed-expiry packages keep their boundary. Quantities and cancelled booking states do not change through this expiry calculation.

Calculate only documented extensions

  1. Measure the approved freeze interval in the agreed calendar-day unit.
  2. Read each package’s expiry treatment and identify covered packages.
  3. Record old/new boundaries with the freeze reference; leave fixed or unknown rules unchanged pending review.

An overlapping or shortened freeze needs a revised duration calculation; do not add the originally requested seven days blindly.

Can both P-Fa and P-Fb fund a 28 Oct start after this freeze?

Show the worked answer

On expiry timing, only P-Fa: 28 Oct is before 1 Nov but after P-Fb’s 25 Oct boundary. Other entitlement checks still apply.

Membership status and package validity should have separate fields so staff can see an active member with an expired package.
