Return borrowed project equipment with an item-level handback

Match the borrowed-item register to actual returns and keep missing equipment on a named recovery task.

Match serial identities, not total item count

The synthetic project borrowed camera CAM-1, microphone MIC-2 and tripod TRI-3. At closeout CAM-1 and TRI-3 are returned and acknowledged; MIC-2 remains at the worksite. The custodian requires each borrowed identity returned or explicitly transferred before the loan closes. No deposit or liability amount is supplied.

Close returned items and retain the missing one

  1. Read borrowed identities
  2. Check acknowledged returns
  3. Locate MIC-2
  4. Assign recovery owner
  5. Close loan only after final handback or approved transfer

A different microphone cannot substitute for MIC-2 merely to reach three items; reconcile the actual borrowed identity.

Two borrowed items are closed and one remains open. Record the final custodian acknowledgement when MIC-2 returns; a retrieval plan alone is not evidence of handback.

Does the completed project phase close the three-item loan?

Show the worked answer

No. MIC-2 still remains at the worksite, so one loan item and its recovery task remain open.
