Close a project phase while keeping named residual actions open

Record which phase outputs are complete and which follow-through actions remain with a separate owner and date.

Separate phase completion from outstanding actions

The sample owner permits phase closeout when two output packs are complete and any nonblocking follow-through has an accepted owner. Pack A and B are complete; one filing action remains and Jo explicitly accepts it for Day 4. This is a supplied internal closure rule, not a customer acceptance or payment trigger.

Close the phase without closing the filing action

  1. Confirm both output completions
  2. List remaining ACT-J
  3. Record Jo’s accepted date
  4. Close phase under supplied rule
  5. Keep ACT-J on active follow-through list

If the remaining action is blocking or no owner accepts it, this closure condition is not met.

The phase closes with one open action, not zero. Retain the closeout record’s link to ACT-J so the task does not vanish from the active team view.

Can ACT-J be marked done because the phase is closed?

Show the worked answer

No. Jo still owns the open filing action for Day 4; only the phase state changed.
