Define the survey population and known ratings
Synthetic survey is offered to ten distinct completed cases. Four return valid ratings: three positive and one negative. Six have no rating. The fixture calculates positive share among valid respondents and response rate among invited cases; non-response is not an invented zero score or a positive response. These invented figures describe no real team performance. Ticket resolution is measured separately.
| Group | Cases | Rating evidence | Use in calculation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Positive respondents | 3 | Valid positive rating | Positive numerator and response count |
| Negative respondents | 1 | Valid negative rating | Response count only |
| No rating | 6 | No rating evidence | Invite count; outcome unknown |
Calculate two differently labelled fractions
- Count distinct invited cases
- Validate returned ratings
- Separate non-responses
- Report positive share and response rate
Duplicate ratings from one case need the agreed selection rule before counting; do not increase the denominator with repeated submissions.
What are positive share and response rate?
Show the worked answer
Positive share is 3/4 = 75% of valid respondents. Response rate is 4/10 = 40% of invited cases. The other six ratings remain unknown.
Keep the invited and responding populations explicit. Unknown ratings remain unknown; report the response rate beside the respondent score.
