Establish the expected quantity
Synthetic case: package P-J was issued for eight sessions, but the issuance entry recorded six. Two sessions have been consumed and one is held. The original issue document is accepted evidence of an error. Add two to available quantity; do not rewrite consumed or held usage.
| Field | Before | Adjustment | After |
|---|---|---|---|
| Available | 3 | +2 / J-1 | 5 |
| Held | 1 | 0 | 1 |
| Consumed | 2 | 0 | 2 |
| Accounted total | 6 | +2 | 8 |
Post a reasoned quantity adjustment
- Compare issued entitlement with usage and held booking lines.
- Record J-1 with old quantity, delta, evidence and staff identity.
- Add two to available and reconcile the eight-session total.
A customer recollection without supporting records stays a dispute; do not silently treat it as established issuance evidence.
Why is setting available to eight wrong?
Show the worked answer
Eight is the package total. Setting available to eight would yield 8 + 1 + 2 = 11 accounted sessions, three too many.
Later adjustments must reference J-1 if reversing it, so the original correction is not lost.
