Identify which cartons use each pack revision
The supplier changes item IT-A from twelve to ten units per carton. The synthetic policy uses the explicitly agreed purchase-line pack revision, supported by actual carton contents; arrival date alone does not choose the conversion. Old stock keeps revision P1 and new stock P2.
| Receipt | Pack revision | Cartons | Base units |
|---|---|---|---|
| R-A / PO-A | P1 / 12 each per carton | 3 | 36 |
| R-B / PO-B | P2 / 10 each per carton | 3 | 30 |
| R-C / PO-C | Not confirmed | 2 | Unconverted; review |
Keep conversions attached to their transactions
- Obtain revised pack evidence
- Approve new revision for identified orders
- Verify contents on receipt
- Post base units with revision
- Leave older receipts unchanged
An unconfirmed or mixed carton stays unconverted until it is counted or assigned an evidenced pack revision.
R-A remains thirty-six even after P2 becomes the default for new orders. R-C needs its own evidence; borrowing P2 would invent twenty units. This worksheet assumes a countable item, not variable-weight goods, and does not define cost recalculation.
What is the confirmed total from R-A and R-B, and can R-C be added?
Show the worked answer
Sixty-six confirmed units: 3 × 12 + 3 × 10. R-C cannot contribute a confirmed base quantity until its pack content is resolved.
