Specify make-up lessons by missed content

Record the missed topic and approved replacement coverage alongside the new booking.

Keep teaching content separate from the time slot

Synthetic tuition centre: a learner missed topic Fractions in lesson L10. A make-up satisfies that gap only when its topic is Fractions or an approved coverage mapping explicitly includes it. Slot A teaches Geometry; Slot B teaches Fractions. Both have capacity, but only B covers the gap. Booking a free seat alone cannot mark missed content recovered.

  1. Read missed topic
  2. Compare replacement coverage
  3. Check capacity separately
  4. Record actual attendance before closing gap

A changed topic on the replacement requires a fresh coverage check even if the booking time stays the same.

B is booked but not yet attended. Is the Fractions gap closed?

Show the worked answer

No. B is content-eligible, but the gap remains until the specified attendance evidence exists.

Include a free but unsuitable slot in acceptance testing; otherwise the system may confuse scheduling success with learning coverage.
