Trace which dispatched orders used a flagged lot

Follow recorded lot-to-dispatch links and isolate unresolved quantities before preparing a contact list.

Follow physical issue records, not item sales alone

The sample owner flags lot L-D for investigation and requests a trace pack only. L-D had twenty accepted units. Its issue records identify two dispatched orders and a pick still on site. The scope does not decide product safety, impose a recall or send customer messages.

Deliver a bounded trace pack to the decision owner

  1. Identify flagged lot
  2. Gather lot-linked receipts and issues
  3. Separate dispatched from on-site stock
  4. Reconcile all twenty units
  5. Hand trace list and gaps to owner

Any issue missing a lot link stays unresolved; a same-item order is not proof that it received this lot.

The evidenced outbound list contains O-A and O-B. O-C belongs in the local hold task because its three units have not left. Retain dispatch references for later contact decisions. If quantities fail to reconcile, expand the investigation rather than silently assigning the gap to a customer.

How many units left the site, and how many must be held on site?

Show the worked answer

Twelve left on O-A and O-B; eight remain on site, comprising three staged and five stored. 7 + 5 + 3 + 5 = 20. No contact or recall decision is implied.
