Identify which damaged units the supplier accepts
The sample supplier permits return of four damaged units from receipt R-J under authorisation SR-J. A fifth damaged unit belongs to another receipt and is outside that permission. Staff prepare one consignment for the four only. Supplier acceptance here is provided input; no warranty or credit entitlement is inferred.
| Units | Original receipt | Permission | Custody outcome |
|---|---|---|---|
| J01–J04 / 4 | R-J | SR-J accepted | Collected under HO-J |
| J05 / 1 | R-J2 | No permission | Remain in damage area |
| Consignment CO-J | R-J / SR-J | 4 listed; condition photos PH-J | Supplier collection acknowledgement HO-J |
Keep authorisation, dispatch and credit separate
- Check supplier return scope
- Identify four authorised units
- Prepare consignment and condition evidence
- Record supplier collection
- Close returned custody and retain finance follow-up
A collection request without actual handover does not remove stock from custody. If the supplier collects only three, keep the fourth pending with a collection discrepancy.
CO-J links each of the four to R-J and SR-J. HO-J proves all four left; J05 remains visibly separate. Any supplier credit must later cite its actual financial decision rather than being inferred from the collection signature. Transport and liability terms are outside this sample.
After HO-J confirms four collected, how much damaged custody remains from the listed five?
Show the worked answer
One unit, J05, remains. Four were handed back under the permitted scope; the collection does not approve a credit amount.
