Check protected content before accepting a centred square crop

Compare the supplied protected rectangle with the actual retained image bounds.

Fix source and crop coordinates

Synthetic source is 1200×800 pixels. A centred 800×800 crop keeps x 200–1000,y 0–800. Protected offer text occupies x 250–900,y 100–700; an optional decorative shape occupies x 50–150. Local policy allows decorative loss but requires all protected content retained. These are invented placement coordinates, not an actual image or provider crop rule.

Test full rectangle containment

  1. Calculate centred horizontal crop
  2. Compare all protected edges
  3. Separate optional lost shape
  4. Accept this crop candidate

A protected region crossing x 200 or 1000 would require another crop/layout, not silent clipping.

Does the required text survive, and how much horizontal width is removed?

Show the worked answer

Yes. Both protected x edges lie inside 200–1000, and y inside 0–800. Four hundred pixels of source width are removed,200 on each side.
