Check a proposed credit against the line’s remaining billed amount

Include prior issued credits before accepting another reduction.

Records and local rule

Original local rule prohibits issued credits exceeding their linked billing line. Line L240 billed 240 and has prior issued credit 80. New proposal N180 is 180. Other billing lines cannot supply balance for this proposal; no return quantity is modelled.

Process the recorded case

  1. Match proposal to the exact billing line
  2. Read prior issued reductions
  3. Calculate remaining line amount
  4. Hold over-credit scope for correction

Do not silently cap the proposed document; require an authorised corrected amount and preserve the original request.

Check the outcome

What amount remains, and how far does N180 exceed it?

Show the worked answer

240−80=160 remains; 180−160=20 excess. Hold N180 rather than issue it or borrow another line’s balance.
