Decide whether a task can finish before an access window closes

Calculate the last feasible start and keep setup time inside the reserved work window.

Include setup in the window

The synthetic work window closes at 17:00. Setup needs thirty minutes and the task needs ninety; interruption is not allowed by the supplied procedure. At 15:10 the team has not started. This is a local access constraint, not a legal working-hours rule.

Move work instead of squeezing the procedure

  1. Confirm window end
  2. Add setup and task duration
  3. Subtract from 17:00
  4. Compare actual readiness
  5. Reschedule if after 15:00

A proposed shorter setup requires a revised approved procedure; it cannot be assumed merely to fit the window.

At 15:10, a full run would end at 17:10, outside the window. The planner should book a new slot or obtain a genuinely changed constraint, keeping this attempt unstarted.

If everything is ready at 14:50, when does work finish and how much margin remains?

Finish at 16:50, leaving ten minutes before 17:00. Setup and task both remain included.
