Count review work as part of the cost
The calculator treats new handling time as applying to every task, then adds extra review time for the proportion needing review. Recurring software and support costs are added separately. These are your assumptions, not an industry average or a quotation from Astera.
| Item | Assumption or result |
|---|---|
| Monthly tasks | 2,000 |
| Current handling | 5 minutes per task at HK$100/hour |
| New handling | 1 minute per task |
| Review | 10% of tasks need 2 extra minutes |
| Recurring cost | HK$1,500/month |
| Net monthly benefit | HK$11,166.67 |
Read the result before deciding on a project
A positive monthly benefit produces an illustrative simple payback: initial investment divided by that benefit. If the benefit is zero or negative, there is no positive payback under the supplied assumptions. This simple model excludes financing, discounting and tax effects; it evaluates one operational scenario rather than making an investment recommendation.
Try a higher exception rate and a lower task volume before relying on the result. During a pilot, replace assumptions with measured handling and review time. Keep the exported inputs so a later result can be compared on the same basis.
