Separate the recorded count and the draft
Synthetic aligned ledger is eleven and recorded count nine. No quantity adjustment is posted. The draft count starts at nine, requires whole nonnegative units and has a local reason field. Changing it does not modify the fixed count or post an adjustment.
| Input or inspection | Expected view | Business meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Inspect original | Ledger11 / count9 / posted0 | Unexplained residual2 |
| Enter −1 or 1.5 | Number constraint invalid | Whole nonnegative units required |
| Change draft to 8 | Local input8; fixed count9 | No posted adjustment |
Inspect validity and record state
- The count has a visible label and a linked units constraint.
- The recorded values stay in a separate read-only table.
What residual follows the fixed eleven-versus-nine record?

Two units. Editing the local draft does not change that recorded comparison or authorise a correction.
The prototype validates number shape only; investigation and adjustment approval remain separate.
