Find a failing region behind a healthy-looking average

Compare weighted overall success with a separate regional acceptance rule.

Fix each denominator

Synthetic ten-minute batch has 900 North requests all successful and 100 South requests with 80 successful. Local acceptance needs overall at least 95% and each region at least 90%. These are exercise thresholds, not service guarantees.

Calculate weighted and regional results

  1. Add counts, not regional percentages
  2. Check overall threshold
  3. Check each region independently

An empty region has no observed rate; do not treat it as 100%.

Does the batch pass the supplied policy?

Show the worked answer

No. Overall 98% passes 95%, but South 80% fails 90%. The weighted average does not remove the regional failure.

Keep the region field in the result export. Removing it would make this policy impossible to evaluate from the aggregate alone.
