State whether a parent action changes its children

Define a grouped action’s depth instead of assuming a cascade.

Compare the rule with concrete cases

Original fictional action archives a folder label only. Child notes keep their own active states and remain available in the note list. A different cascade action would archive all children too. Neither behaviour follows merely from the folder containing them. No files are deleted in this lesson.

Work through the distinction

Specify child-state effects alongside the parent action. The preserved children are a required result of parent-only behaviour, not an accidental omission.

How many child notes become archived under the original action?

Show the worked answer

Zero. Only the folder label changes; both child notes stay active.

Acceptance wording to adapt

Archive-folder-label must set F to archived while preserving N1 and N2 active. It must not delete children or change their state. Any cascade requires a separately specified action.
