Compare the rule with concrete cases
Original fictional note has ID N7 and title Draft. Title may be edited; ID cannot change after creation. A submitted edit asking for ID N8 and title Final is rejected as a whole under this model. Merely displaying the ID as text does not specify the saved effect.
| Edit request | ID after | Title after | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Title Final only | N7 | Final | Accepted |
| ID N8 only | N7 | Draft | Rejected |
| ID N8 and title Final | N7 | Draft | Whole edit rejected |
Work through the distinction
State whether invalid identity edits reject the entire change or ignore just that field. Here the whole-edit rule means a rejected ID request must not partly save the new title.
After the combined rejected edit, which record remains?
Show the worked answer
N7 with title Draft. Neither requested change took effect.
Acceptance wording to adapt
After creation, reject any note edit that changes note_id. On rejection preserve all original fields. Permit a title-only edit while retaining note_id unchanged.
