Define a course assessment with an essential criterion

Store criterion results separately from the aggregate score.

Model both total and essential criterion

Synthetic workshop assessment has four criteria, ten points each. Passing needs total at least 28 and criterion C1 at least 6. Attempt A scores 5,10,10,10; B scores 7,7,7,7. The rubric belongs only to this workshop and grants no recognised qualification. Each attempt has its own result rather than overwriting the earlier attempt.

  1. Record each criterion score
  2. Calculate total
  3. Check essential C1 separately
  4. Store decision for this attempt

A missing score is unknown, not an automatic zero or a passed criterion.

Attempt C scores 6,8,7,7. Does it pass?

Show the worked answer

Yes: total 28 meets the threshold and C1 = 6 meets its inclusive minimum.

Keep the essential rule in the downloadable rubric so an aggregate-only demo cannot appear to satisfy the requirement.
